When It All Makes Sense

“One day it will all make sense.” I can remember hearing my Nana (RIP) say this to me when I was small. When troubles would come, she would tell me “One day it will all make sense…and when it does…it’s up to you to use that knowledge to help others.” So now it’s starting to make sense.

Everyday God allows this world to test us. Not because He doesn’t care, but you have to overstand that this world we live in is nothing but a constant test and struggle for your spirit and mind. The battle to overcome feelings of Pride, Lust, Gluttony, Greed, Envy, Hate, Sloth and Anger are real.

Far too many times in life we concentrate on what we are not instead of what we are. We concentrate on what we don’t have instead of what we do have.  When we do this, we give these 7 deadly sins the ability to foster and grow within our spirits. When this occurs we become our own worst enemies, because then not only are we fighting against the issues we are facing, we are fighting against the piece of Him that lives within each one of us.

Over the last 6 years, I have experienced a lot of financial challenges that have left me lacking in material growth. I’ve had many lonely and unrest full nights. Some were spent on the couches of friends, countless hotels and motels, and even in the back of my Chevy. I’ve had to deal with the pain and hate associated with lies and disappointments created by loved ones. Yet through it all I have been blessed with the ability to love and understand what I did have instead of what I didn’t.  I learned to love myself for everything I am despite of what I am not, and most importantly I learned how to listen to the piece of God that lives within me. When this is done there is a joy God gives you that no man, woman, or situation can steal.

At some point in life we have to stop letting life dictate who we are….and let who we are dictate our lives…

Gym Theory

A lot of times the worst thing we do as adults is let our profession or material goods define who we are. Once we do that we lose the ability to focus properly. We become a slave to our desires. We work so hard to get the biggest and best “things”…but sadly before we can even achieve one materialistic goal we have already created another. Somehow in the everyday race for what we want, we tend to sacrifice what we need.

I often see friends and family that have paid so much attention to making money; they have neglected the machine they use to make that money…their bodies. As a nation we are overweight, chronically dehydrated, and addicted to sugar and salt. Everybody always tells me “I don’t have time to eat right.” Really? Do you know TIME is the greatest luxury God grants us? Do you understand that our bodies are the greatest machine HE ever created…..yet you don’t have the time (which HE grants you) to take care of the machine HE loaned you? That to me just doesn’t make sence.

Staying in shape and treating out bodies right is 80% nutrition 20% exercise. I was taught a long time ago that proper preparation prevents poor performance. You have to prepare to eat right. You have to prepare to be healthy. Always remember if you are not preparing to succeed, you are preparing to fail. If you are having issues with over eating or simply not eating enough, I would advise you to check out this website www.urbanmutant.myvi.net. People all over the country are taking steps everyday to increase their quality of life by challenging themselves to make a healthy change.

A building is only as strong as its foundation. For many of us that foundation is family. Your professional life and material goods will not make you or your family healthier...but good health will increase your ability to control your family's health, perform your profession and enjoy the riches of this life.... the choice is simple...today make one change in your personal life to increase your health and the health of others around you.
